Report of the Special Rapporteur on the right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health, Paul Hunt (2006)

This report has a thematic section on 'the human right to medicines'. It notes that access to medicines is 'an indispensable part' of the right to health and that making certain essential medicines available to all, including vulnerable individuals and disadvantaged groups, is an immediate obligation of states. Also, medicines must be culturally acceptable and 'national measures should support the proper use of traditional medicine'.
