HMG Strategy for Abolition of the Death Penalty 2010-2015, Foreign & Commonwealth Office (2011)

This document sets out the UK’s policy on the death penalty and provides guidance for other countries on how to make progress towards its abolition. While the UK is fighting for the global abolition of death penalty, it urges the countries which still retain it to observe at least  minimum standards on its use (for example, use it only for most serious crimes and not for drug smuggling or other minor offences).
