Report of the International Narcotics Control Board on Follow-up to the Twentieth Special Session of the General Assembly- Part on Alternative Development (2009)

This article is an excerpt from the 2008 INCB Report on follow-up to the twentieth Special Session of the General Assembly. In this article authors discuss the achievements of the Board in promoting the strategy of reducing or eliminating the illicit supply of drugs derived from illicitly cultivated drugs, i.e. the strategy of alternative development. In particular, the Board discusses the relationship between stability and security, and the success of alternative development programs.
