In the concluding observations on the third periodic report of Peru, the Committee stressed the non-compliance of national law with the Covenant in respect to detention for up to 15 days without being brought before a judicial authority in cases of drug trafficking, terrorism and espionage and recommended the State make the needed amendments in the relevant legislation.
