UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights: Concluding Observations on Costa Rica (2008)

The Committee issued these concluding observations in 2008, after reviewing Costa Rica’s combined second, third, and fourth periodic reports. In paragraph 30, the Committee expresses concern at the increase in the secondary school drop-out rate caused by, among other things, child labour and drug use. In paragraph 51, the Committee recommends that Costa Rica ‘intensify its efforts’ to lower the secondary school drop-out rate.
