UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights: Concluding Observations on the Czech Republic (2002)

The Committee issued these concluding observations in 2002, after reviewing the initial report of the Czech Republic on implementation of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. In paragraph 88, the Committee notes deep concern at the high rate of drug, tobacco, and alcohol consumption in the country, especially among children and youth. The Committee then, in paragraph 108, calls upon the Czech Republic to adopt effective measures to reduce such consumption, particularly among children.
