The present report contains the findings and recommendations of the Special Rapporteur on violence against women, its causes and consequences, on her visit to the Russian Federation. It mentions that the main causes of violence against women are alcohol and drug abuse among men, loss of status experienced by women, increased levels of unemployment etc.
