UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, Concluding Observations on Seychelles (2012)

Date: 23 January 2012

The Committee issued these concluding observations in 2012 after its consideration of the periodic reports of Seychelles. It notes with concerns the increased number of children using drugs as well as the high rates of drug abuse among students, despite the State’s measure to address this issue. It recommends providing supportive rehabilitation, reintegration and recovery programmes, including psychological counselling, specifically designed for child victims of drug and substance abuse (paragraphs 56 &57).
