Raghda Habal and son v. Argentina (Admissibility Decision) IACHR (25 July 2008) Report No. 64/08

Date: 25 July 2008

Raghda Habal, an Argentine national, was expelled from the country following an administrative proceeding stripping her citizenship.  She contended that because she was a citizen, she was deprived of a fair judicial hearing and that the circumstances which led to her removal were based on illegal actions of her husband (including drug trafficking and misrepresentation of facts on their naturalization application).  The Commission held that the case was admissible.
