UN Human Rights Committee: Concluding Observations on Sudan (2007)

In the Concluding Observations on the third periodic report of Sudan, the Human Rights Committee stressed that national law of Sudan allowing imposition of the death penalty for certain offenses do not meet the threshold of “most serious crimes”, including drug-trafficking.  The Committee invited the State Party to ensure their national law is compliant with the Covenant.
