Potter v. New Zealand, UN Human Rights Committee (1998)

Date: 28 July 1998

The author of the communication, Mr. Potter, was convicted for possession and supply of drugs. Before his release he was charged with rape and indecent assault, perjury and a further drug conspiracy. Applying to the Committee he claimed of being a victim of unfair trial, ill-treatment while imprisoned and discrimination.

The Committee found that the communication is inadmissible as the author failed to exhaust domestic remedies.
