UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights: Concluding Observations on France (2008)

Date: 09 June 2008

The Committee issued these concluding observations in 2008, after considering the third periodic report of France. In paragraph 48, the Committee recommends that France strengthen its efforts to prevent suicides, particularly among vulnerable groups, including youth, detainees, and ‘persons addicted to drugs or alcohol’. The Committee further requests that France include in its next report data on committed and attempted suicides and progress made in suicide prevention.
