UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights: Concluding Observations on Poland (2009)

Date: 02 December 2009

The Committee issued these concluding observations after reviewing Poland’s fifth periodic report in 2009. In paragraph 26, the Committee notes concern at the inadequate provision of substitute drug dependence treatment, especially for those in detention, and calls on Poland to ensure that effective treatment is made available to all. In paragraph 30, the Committee expresses concern at limited access to HIV treatment, ‘particularly among drug users’, and recommends that Poland make HIV treatment available and accessible to all who need it.
