Date: 28 November 2003

The Committee considered Moldova’s initial report on implementation of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and issued these concluding observations in 2003. In paragraph 318, the Committee notes concern at the increase in drug abuse in Moldova, despite recent programmes to combat drugs. In paragraph 340, the Committee calls on Moldova to effectively implement its programmes to prevent and fight drug abuse, especially among youth, and to provide statistical data on drug use in its next periodic report.
