UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights: Concluding Observations on Uzbekistan (2005)

The Committee issued these concluding observations after reviewing Uzbekistan’s initial report on implementation of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in 2005. In paragraph 32, the Committee notes concern about the increasing preparation, transit, sale, and use of illicit drugs in Uzbekistan. In paragraph 63, the Committee urges Uzbekistan ‘to take effective measures to combat the inflow and consumption of illicit drugs and to provide adequate treatment and rehabilitation for drug users’.
